Assignment 2 Chapter 19 BLOG 3#

The Expulsion from Paradise by Tommaso di Ser Giovanni di Mone Cassai
c.1427. The painting follows the ideals of Christianity, defining the moment when Adam and Eve fall from grace. What I gathered from the image is they are walking out of a passageway from paradise, to a desert that is as bare as they. Eve is aware of her nakedness, and uses her hand to cover herself while Adam buries his face into his hands signifying his grief. The Angel seen above illustrates his/her anger by being red. When something is hot is turns red. I concluded this being hot under the collar, or hot tempered.
I relate this to my life because I have deviated from my ideals, and have followed the wrong paths. It is not until I feel the repercussions of my actions; I’ve realized I shouldn’t have done what I have done. I don’t like when I put myself in situations where there’s a point of no return, as there wasn’t for Adam and Eve, however, making mistakes has been a learning experience for me because I know in order to grow and prosper I must be willing to address my flaws.

Chapter 18 Assignment 1

Demons Tormenting Saint Anthony c. 1480-90

The image that stood out the most was the engravement done by Martin Schonogauer. The image relays a didactic message. It shows Saint Anthony being beaten, tugged and scratched by several demons, however his faith is what permits him to be impervious to all evil that surrounds him. While the image of Saint Anthony shows relentless devils tugging away at his body, and his face doesn’t appear to show agony, it does reveal a tear running down his cheek, showing the frailty of human nature.

I believe this painting correlates to my life when I allow stress or misfortunate affect my spirit. The symbolism behind this content illustrates was appears in be going on in my life when I am either stressed, or suffering from something. When I look at the image, every devil represents one issue of my life I would like to conquer. I believe that stress, sorrows, or what curve ball “life” is throwing at us, can have an unfavorable affects on our psyche, but if one decide's to be committed, optimistic, hopeful, and trust in God, things can turn for the better. I also like the message that even Saint Anthony can endure moments of chaos and tribulations. I believe we are all tested to show our resilience, because I believe it makes us better human beings.

I like this photo. Its a little eccentric like me ( i guess).
However I felt this photo was related to me in the form that I see open hands and the person in yellow leading the way...I love to help people ( and lend a helping hand), and try my best to help show them a brighter way of looking at things.

Reminds me that every child longs to have their mother's endearing love and intimacy. I picked this because I long for a close relationship with my mother.

This is a posting of my daughter's profile. This image is a partial view of her, as she has many dimensions to her personality, a few that can be seen in this picture. I decided to post this image because just like the picture, I rarely allow people to see all of me, as I am very elusive.
